… not that you’d know it from the weather this April! Anyway, in the 13th century all the evidence they needed was a cuckoo.
Cuckoo or not, Morris dancers’ pulses quicken at the end of April, because we traditionally start dancing on the first of May, outside the Town Hall.
The Day of Dance is our biggest event of the year. Our friends from Coventry, Etcetera and Winchester join St Albans Morris Men to mark the end of our summer of dance. You may also spot a couple of members of Whitchurch and Letchworth.

One of the nice things about having a club that’s been around for a long time is that you develop a number of little traditional activities.
Christmas is a particularly traditional time of year.
For the Met Office August 31 marks the end of summer, for us it’s our day of dance on the last Saturday of September. That’s today!
What a glorious day for a tour! And the Cotswolds are so lovely.
